Richard was a special guy to many of us. He always attempted to make it home for our Festival Days and Alumni events and enjoyed every minute of it. When Charlie was gone he stayed with Jack and I and was an enjoyable guest. I'm glad I had the pleasure of knowing him and will miss him.

Charles Sanson, long time friend.
Just as in the CORPS, I truly believe I would have sacrificed myself for Richard to live. I regret we didn't live closer, we could have played pool, fished had a beer or two. as it was, Dorothy and I enjoyed his visits to his old hometown, here in Girard. If you want to read a story of us growing up....go to memories on this site.

He was a great man, he taught me a lot of things that I didn't know and now I will learn from them and he had a good life while it lasted. My grandfather was the best grandpa their could ever be and he taught me a lot as he lived but it will be hard to go along my life with out him. I will never forget when he would call me a turkey when I did something wrong or funny.
