Obituary for Joan E. Young

Joan E.  Young
Joan Elizabeth Young, beloved wife of Neil Young, Springfield, went to her heavenly home on August 3, 2005 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She ws born on February 20, 1936 to Chadburn & Mary Ellen (Deering) Aubuchon. Joan and Neil were married on November 25, 1954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiff, Missouri.

Joan was a member of St. Agnes Cathedral Parish where she worked in the rectory and provided household services to the priests, seminarians and houseguests for many years. Joan was noted for her cooking, canning and baking abilities.

Proceding her in death were her parents, sisters Elaine Aubuchon and Doris Boyer and two grandchildren, Chelsey Sawyer and Seth Hiner.

Joan is survived by her loving husband of 50 years and her sons and daughters, Sue (Joe) Johnson, Chuck (Patricia) Young, Thom (Debra) Young, Mary (Kevin) Zumwalt, Theresa Keppel, Karen (John) Conley, and Kathie (Ed) Sadler; in addition to her grandchildren, Neil & Joseph Hooper, Andy Sawyer; Luke, Andrea, Sophia & Olivia Young; Kyle, Blair & Drew Young; Lindsey & Alex Zumwalt, Dillon & Mallory Keppel; Cory Brockman, Megan & Brandon Conley, and Titan & Mya Sadler; Joan is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Frank (Jackie) Aubuchon, Leon (Martha) Aubuchon, Jean (Ron) Coleman, Margaret Hodge, Jim (Sue) Aubuchon, Eileen (Hollis) Finley, Glenda (Galen) Arnold, Kenny (Gail) Aubuchon, and Dennis (Frances) Aubuchon and many other relatives and friends.

She was considered a Mother to all and will be deeply missed.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday August 6, 2005 in St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Mike McDevitt celebrant under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St. Burial will be Monday in St. Joachim Cemetery in Old Mines, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm today with Prayer Services starting at 7 pm in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Agnes Cathedral or The Kitchen, Inc, Springfield, Mo.
