Obituary for Bernice J. Vinson (Wooten)

Bernice J. Vinson (Wooten)
Bernice Jeanene Wooten Vinson was born March 30, 1942 and passed from this life April 24, 2018 at the age of 76 years and 25 days.

August 2, 1960, Jeanene married Gaylon B. Vinson and to this union were born two children, Kendall Douglas (Coleen) Vinson and Gaylene Brooke (Anthony) Ware.

Jeanene accepted Christ at an early age and at the very end her thoughts were still on “her Jesus”. Jeanene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a great pastor’s wife. In her quiet way, she influenced so many, many people. Her grace extended from playing with children on the dirt streets of the Dominican Republic to attendance at high ranking government functions. Her “hugs” are legendary. She will be greatly missed, but all who knew her knows she has entered into her eternal rest.

Jeanene is survived by her husband, Gaylon Vinson; two children and their spouses, Kendall Douglas (Coleen) Vinson and Gaylene Brooke (Anthony) Ware; four grandchildren, Cameron Tyler Vinson, Austin Jacob Vinson, Gabriel Bailey Ware and Jadyn Alyeze Ware. She is also survived by her sister, Judith Ann Meyers (Leonard John Jr.), and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend and Mrs. Loren Wooten.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 1, 2018 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri.

Visitation will follow the services in the chapel.

A second Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Southgate Church, 9820 E. Watson Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63126.
