Larry Evans
Larry Eli Evans, age 90, of Springfield, MO, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Springfield.

An internment service with military honors will be held at The Missouri Veteran's Cemetery on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 2:00 PM. (Casual attire please) Address for the internment, is 5201 S. Southwood Rd., Springfield, MO 65804. Funeral services will be held at the Maranatha Chapel on Friday, June 9, at 2:30 PM. with visitation to follow. Address for the funeral is 233 E. Norton Rd., Springfield, MO, 65803

Larry was born in Springfield, MO, on August 20, 1926, to John and Olive Evans. Larry married Betty Wooten on May 31, 1948, and celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on May, 31, 2017. Larry served 2 two-year stints in the Navy, once in World War II and the other in the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer, 2nd Class, in 1951. Prior to founding Empire Printing in 1964, Larry spent 20 years at the Gospel Publishing House of the Assemblies of God. He served as Sunday School Superintendent for 13 years and was a deacon for 24 years at Central Assembly of God. Larry was active in the Lion's Club and was District Governor for Missouri. Larry was ordained by Acts Ministries focusing on hospital ministries. Larry is preceded in death by grandson Josh Evans. He is survived by wife Betty, sons Jim and Cathy Evans, Johnny and Barbie Evans, and Jeff and Lynn Evans. His grandchildren are Shane, Jeff Jr. and wife Amanda, Nathan and Ruthie Smith, Sarah, Johnny II, Alex, Jackson, and great grandchildren Abigail, Alison, Eli, Cabella Fritze, Dianna Smith, Eli, and Charli.
