Anna, you were my sister and you were my friend. You understood me more than anyone and you were always there when I needed someone to talk to. You believed in me and listened to me when I spoke. You always made me feel important. Our lives began together in San Diego, California. I can still see us running on the beach together and playing in the sand dunes. we did not have a care in the world and everything seemed so good. It was 1952 and life was as good as it gets. The years went by and we grew up. You became the popular one, the beauty queen, the dancer. Go dancing, my sister always did! I was the quiet one, always observing as you took center stage. You always had so much potential but life was not so kind to you. I know you loved your daughters and I know that you always wanted your mother's love. I tried so hard to help you. You deserved so much more in life than you got yet you played your cards well. We were opposites in so many ways and yet we were so much the same. Most of all, we shared a love for the sea.I will miss you every day Anna and every time I see the ocean or look at a picture of an island or a beach, I will be thinking of you. Someday I will be looking to find you and we will run again among the sand dunes and search for sea shells along the beach forever. I love you Anna
