Message: This wonderful family became my second family when I came to Springfield to now MSU in 1964. Pat has been a dear friend for 50 years now. Burl and Louisa always had a hug, food and a welcome mat out! Loved this man so much! They just don't make them like they used to. I will miss him very much!

Message: Burl and Lousia were my adopted grandparents, they took care of me from the time I was a little baby. Burl always had a funny joke to tell and his eyes would twinkle when he said the punch line. When I was a little older he taught me how to whistle and I think of him anytime I hear Stars and Stripes Forever. I'm so glad I was able to see Burl last summer and introduce him to my youngest daughter. He will be missed, but always remembered fondly.
