Obituary for Lena E. Cook (Covington)

Lena E.  Cook (Covington)
Lena E. Cook, 102 of Springfield went to be with her Lord and Savior April 13, 2012.

Lena was born February 4, 1910 in Webster County, Missouri to William and Sarah (Pack) Covington. She was married to Arthur S. Cook on December 2, 1931 in El Reno, Oklahoma. Lena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Cleo and Lonzo Covington, and her sister, Ruby Dodd.

She is survived by her twin sister, Ida Cheatham; her nephews, Lon Covington (Sue) and Bill Winn; her nieces, Marjorie Ferris, Dorothy Whitley, Louise Diamond, Victoria Price (Dennis), Colleen Holiday (Duayne), and Wanda King; cousin, Joane Ross; and many other relatives and friends.

Lena was a member of Praise Assembly for over thirty years, she was saved in 1935. Her family wishes to thank all the staff at Maranatha Village, Seasons Hospice and her many friends at Praise Assembly. Lena was a faithful Christian who read her Bible and prayed for so many people every day. She loved her Lord and witnessed to all.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday April 16, 2012 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel 500 E. Walnut Street with Pastor Billy H. Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Spokane Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service time in the funeral home.
