Welcome

Welcome to our web site. It is our goal to provide answers to your questions related to funeral service.

All funeral homes are required by law to have a “General Price List” which lists all the services they provide and their charges for those services. The Federal Trade Commission enacted this law back in 1984 so families could get accurate price comparisons from funeral homes. At this time funeral homes are not required to post their “General Price List” online. Some funeral homes will give a partial listing of prices on their website that sound too good to be true or they may have merchandise that seems way less than the other funeral homes. It is important to get all the information when comparing services and prices. Be wary when you are getting prices online or over the telephone. Be sure to ask if there are any additional charges which are not displayed on their websites.

Another concern when getting funeral cost online is that you may be getting information from a third party website which does not even have a local representative in your area. They merely become a middle man trying to make money on services that your local funeral home will be providing.

At Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home we believe in fair and honest pricing. We display our complete “General Price List” here on our website. We also include pricing on our merchandise online. When determining the total cost of a funeral it is important to get all the information you need. We welcome inquires online, by phone or in person. We will always you give an honest quote for the services you desire. If your loved one is a veteran we will explain the benefits that you may be entitled to and make suggestions that will save you money. We have no gimmicks or special deals, just fair and honest prices for quality services every day.

So when you are comparing prices online there is a lot to think about. If their website does not display a complete “General Price List” ask yourself why. And make sure you are dealing directly with the local funeral home and not a middle man who is in another state or country.

Here at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home we have been serving families for over 100 years. We are locally owned and operated and take great pride in the services we provide to families.

We have our own onsite state of the art crematory to better serve our families in their time of need.
