William Craig Thomas 62, of Springfield passed away Sunday March 8, 2015 at Mercy Hospital.
Craig was born May 22, 1952 in Springfield, Missouri to Richard Garnell and Velma (Tinch) Thomas. He was known for his great rhythm, dancing, and singing. You could often find him ‘getting down’ at the skating rink. He was an outstanding football player who enjoyed cooking and most of all playing Dominos. Craig attended Central High School in Springfield. He worked as a city bus driver, a carman helper for the Frisco railroad, and as a truck driver. Craig gave his life to the Lord in March of this year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents; Tommy and Corrine Brown, and McKinley (Daddy Mac) and Hazel (Mamma Hazel) Tinch, as well as his brother James Rodney Thomas and his brother-in-law, Douglas Schockley Jr.
He is survived by his son, Darius Thomas, daughter, Diana Thomas, grandchildren; Willie, Airiana, and Quentarah. His brother, Kenneth (Shirley) Thomas, sister, Sabrina Shockley, special cousin, Jean (Jim) Duke, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 14, in the Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel. 500 E. Walnut Street Springfield, MO. A memorial service will follow starting at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Charlotte Warren and Reverend Frances Stafford officiating.
