William Spears

William (Bill) A. Spears left his earthly body to join his best friend and brother Sean Spears on Sunday, February 15th, 2015.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his parents, William and Donna (Ruh) Spears, fiance’ Misty Caro, children Ashley Smith, William Spears (Alexandra), Danielle Spears, Julian Spears, step children Jonas and Chloe. Grandchildren Cole Smith, Carsyn Smith, and Georgia Spears. Sisters Kasey Bates (Rocky), Barbara Garman (Dan), sister in law Sue Baggett-Spears, numerous nephews and nieces and a multitude of friends.


Bill was many things to many people. He was a son, brother, father, grandfather, partner, and friend. He was a poet, a creative artist, an amazing chef, a business owner, a deep thinker and a self-taught musician. Bill could do just about anything. He could look at a blank canvas and create beautiful images. He could look at an empty room and design the most amazing spaces. He wrote from the depths of his soul clarifying his deep love and the infinite love of the Universe. Eating dinner at Bill’s house was like going to a 5 star restaurant. He will always be known for his “spaghetti and meatballs.”

Bill was an active member of Unity of Springfield, playing drums with the band there and also a friend of Bill W.

Bill’s infectious smile and big bear hugs will be missed by everyone. His deep, soothing voice will forever whisper in our ears. He has forever left an imprint on our hearts.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 5:00pm at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. A gathering to continue the celebration will follow at Unity of Springfield, 2214 E. Seminole St. Springfield MO 65807.
