William Becker

Mr. William Horace Becker, 87 of Springfield passed away at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in St. John's Hospital.

William was born Nov. 21, 1919 in Kirkwood, Mo. to Karl and Hilda (Fromm) Becker. Bill served in the US Navy in the European Theatre during WWII. He was an institutional salesman for McCormick Spice Company for many years before his retirement.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Richard William Becker and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie Anna and Louis Kolb. He is survived by his wife of over 66 years Lily Mary Becker; his daughters, Barbara Arnold of Arcola, Mo., and Sandra Wright of Springfield, Mo.; his three grandchildren, Jacqueline J. Arnold, Brian W. Arnold, and Christina R. Anderson; his three great grandchildren, Haylee Huyck, James Curtis, Talitha Anderson; his sister, Marguerite Goedde; nephews and niece Roger and Denis Kolb and Susan Allgier; and his dear friends who he considered family, Norm and Linda Beine.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St with Military Chaplain Laird M. Thompson officiating. No visitation is planned. Online condolences can be made at www.hhlohmeyer.com.
