Wildeana Blasi

Wildeana (Willie) Blasi, 90, passed away peacefully at 5:10 p.m. on April 2, 2016, at The Fremont Senior Living Community with her family by her side. She was born July 23, 1925, in Springfield, MO to Max and Virginia Lyles. In 1947 she married the love of her life, Arthur (Doc) Blasi, and to this union they were blessed with three boys. She has many angels awaiting to greet her in heaven: her parents, Max and Virginia, her husband, Doc, her brothers, Max, Jr., Terry and Johnny, and her son, Michael.

Willie graduated from Central High School in 1943 and married Doc Blasi in 1947. She spent her career with Postal & Federal Employees Credit Union and Missouri Division of Family Services. As a member of St. Agnes Cathedral she served countless hours as a volunteer. She was dedicated to her family and her church. She enjoyed playing and competing in Springfield Parks tennis and golf when she wasn’t watching her sons play sports, especially baseball and softball or following the Missouri State Bears.

Willie is survived by her two sons, Pat Blasi and wife Cynthia, Tim Blasi and wife Christie; daughter-in-law, Kira Blasi; grandchildren, Chris (Nicole), Andy, Tia, Abby, CeCe, Nick (Clare), and Kristiana (Matt); great-grandchildren, Bailey, Sadie, Lael, and Emma, whom she loved dearly and so many dear family and friends that she thought the world of.

Willie was a kind soul who never had a harsh word to say about anyone or anything. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the special care Willie received while at The Fremont and the wonderful services of Faith Hospice.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 1:00 pm with Monsignor Thomas Reidy celebrating.

We invite all family and friends to join us at Millwood Golf and Racquet Club, following the service, for a Celebration of Willie’s life, beginning at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Donations may be made in Willie’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Faith Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
