Wayne Cochran

Wayne J. Cochran, 89, Springfield, passed away on Thursday December 17, 2015.

He was born February 19, 1926 in Miller, Missouri to Homer and Gertrude (Sater) Cochran. Wayne served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Ora Warren on July 18, 1951 in Columbus, MS. He worked for Edge Supply Company for 39 years.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wonderful wife, Ora Cochran; infant son, Robert Michael Cochran; and 6 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his sons, Dennis Cochran (Susan), Dusty Cochran (Jennifer), and Dale Cochran; grandchildren, Sarah Ballard (Billy), Daniel Cochran, Kelsey Cochran, Caleb Davis, and Hannah Cochran; great grandchildren, Dylan Cochran and Kailey Ballard; and many other family members and friends.

Wayne had a great sense of humor and touched many lives. He was passionate about his wife, family, friends, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He is loved and cherished greatly, and will be truly missed.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday December 22, 2015 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut. Burial with military honors will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
