Wannel A. Davidson, surrounded by her family, passed away December 31st at the age of 88. She was born December 15, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas to Gladys Elizabeth McClain and Douglas Carver. She was preceded in death by her mother; step-father, Jack Christner; the father of her children, Frank C. Davidson; and a great niece, Victoria Christner of Jenks, OK. She is survived by a brother, John Christner, Tulsa, as well as six children: Chuck Davidson, Ozark; Marianne (Dee Dosch) and husband, Dr. John Hume, Nixa; Bill Davidson and wife Inge, Hot Springs, AR; Paul Davidson and wife Kathy, Sedona, AZ; Larry Davidson and wife Judy, Buffalo, MO; and Robert Davidson, Ozark. Eight grandchildren, Tara, Natalie, and Ryan Dosch, Jared and Jeremy Davidson, Ashley and Angie Davidson and Mandy Davidson, as well as eight great grands, Caden, Paige, Rileigh, & Avery Dosch, Aubrey Carlgren, Callie & Carson Conway, and Malea White.
Wannel attended high school in Fort Worth, TX and then Texas State College for Women in Denton TX. She studied at Tulsa University in Oklahoma where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She spent most of her life as a mother and homemaker and was active in the Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Wannel enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos with her beloved friend, the late Marian Hudson.
Closed casket visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with memorial services beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 5th in the parlor at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, MO. with Father Mike McDevitt officiating. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
