Walter Edward Hamilton, 87, Springfield passed away at 5:25 p.m. Thursday October 29, 1998 in The Gardens, Springfield.
Mr. Hamilton was born Jan. 7, 1911 in Springfield, Missouri to Walter E. Sr. & Anna B. (Smith) Hamilton. Walter was a graduate of Central High School, attended SMSU for 3 years, and was a graduate of Cincinnati College of Embalming. He held a Missouri Embalmers & Funeral Directors license since 1933 and worked at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home for over 69 years. He was a member of St. Agnes Cathedral. Walter was a special person who will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kelly Hamilton in 1990.
He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, David & Marilyn Hamilton, San Antonio, TX; a granddaughter & her husband, Lisa & Dave Fonkalsrud, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Agnes Cathedral with Father Tom Kiefer celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery under the care of locally owned Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. today (Sunday) with prayer services starting at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
