Vincenza Mary Gagne, 76, Springfield, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 in Cox South Hospital.
She was born March 1, 1936 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Joseph and Vincenza (Analone) DiBella. She was married to the late Levi Gagne. Vincenza was a CNA, always needing to help others, especially through her nursing care. Vincenza loved to sew and knit items for family, and especially enjoyed cooking. She did a lot of canning. She excelled at making wonderful pizza for large crowds of family and their friends, crafting her own dough, going to great lengths to make sure it was perfect. She also loved to travel, even when she was wheelchair bound.
Vincenza was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Levi. She is survived by two daughters, Veronica Wetherholt and husband, Dwight, and Theresa Corbin; one son, Michael; and eight grandchildren, Michael Shawn Gagne, David Brandon Wetherholt, Meghan Wetherholt, Lauren Gagne, Paige Gagne, Jenna Corbin, Candice Corbin and Brandon Corbin.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Mike McDevitt, celebrant, under the care of Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 pm to 6:30 pm Tuesday May 8th with rosary service starting at 6:30 p.m in the funeral home.
