Vereen Pratt

Vereen Ruth Pratt, age 66, passed away at 12:00am on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Glendale Gardens Nursing Home in Springfield, Missouri.

Vereen was born July 13, 1954 in San Bernardino, California to Tom and June Summers. She attended Yucaipa High School in Southern California.

She married Ted Fitzcharles in 1971, they had two children, George and Ted. In 1981 Vereen and Bob Pratt were married and together that had two more children, Beverly and Robert.

Vereen lived and worked more than 30 years on a small farm near Mountain Grove, Missouri. She enjoyed family gatherings, truly adored her two dogs, being outdoors, and floating on the lake on a hot summer day. She loved her family most of all. She enjoyed simple pleasures in life. It’s no surprise her favorite TV show was Little House On The Prairie. She was full of energy and would never hesitate to tell you what she really thought. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Vereen was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Vickie; and her husband Bob.

She is survived by her four children, George, Ted, Beverly and Robert; her 18 grandchildren, Shelly, Tamera, Aaron, Abigail, Grant, Theodore, Britney, Tanner, Tyler, Isabella, Jasper, Sierra, Tristen, Hailey, Zoey, Isabel, Jazmine, and Samantha; her four great grandchildren, Amelia, Haydon, Brooklynne and Xavier; her brother, Tom; and her three sisters, Virginia, Verna and Valerie.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, March 4th, 2021 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri with Pastor Gray Nordan officiating.
