Venda Hanley

Venda Glee Hanley, a cherished individual known for her kind, loving and caring spirit, left us for Heaven on August
31, 2024. Born on December 30, 1937, at her grandparents’ home in Springfield, MO, she lived a life filled with
tremendous passion and service towards others. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find
comfort in the loving memories we share.

Venda married Jeremiah Hanley in 1955, and they began their ministry life together, pastoring several churches
and as traveling evangelists. Venda was an esteemed pianist and piano teacher. Music was her life!

Venda was preceded in death by Jeremiah, her parents Gerald and Alverda Hager, her sister Joann Stanbro, her in-
laws Fred and Irene Hanley and her great granddaughter Aya.

She is survived by her children: Jerry Hanley of Lebanon, TN, Janeece Carter of Springfield, MO, David Hanley of Los
Angeles, CA and Kim Hanley of Springfield MO; her grandchildren: Tisha Hanley, Ty Carter, Josh Carter and Brittney
Curtis; her great-grandchildren: Addison, Cruz, Aria, Eden, Carson and Norah Jane.

A very special and heartfelt thank you to our social worker, nurses and nurses’ aides of Seasons Hospice for their
exceptional care of Venda and Jeremiah. Truly the best!

A small celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am on September 21, 2024, at Danforth Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
