Troy Davenport

Troy Franklin Davenport, 73 of Springfield passed away Wednesday morning November 23, 2011 in Springfield Skilled Care Center.
Troy was born July 17, 1938 in Greene County, Missouri to Willard and Hazel (Pierson) Davenport. He was a kind, good natured man who never spoke ill of anyone. Troy was a practical joker although sometimes the joke would backfire on him. He lived a simple life and did not care about material things, but did care for others including animals, having rescued many stray dogs which he would bring home and care for.
He is survived by his son, Troy Davenport; his step-children , Troy Turner and Misty Marie; his brother, Charles and his sister, Linda; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday November 30, 2011 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street Springfield, Missouri with Rev. Fred Royer officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery near Fellows Lake. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
