Tom Loughney

John "Tom" Loughney, III, 66 of Springfield passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2006 in his home.

Tom was born Feb. 2, 1940 in Effingham, Illinois to John Thomas, II and Betty Belle (Schwing) Loughney. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, the Men's Club, the Knights of Columbus and was an avid cook, golfer and fan of Duke, Notre Dame and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a friend to all he met.

He is survived by his wife Dee, his four children, John Thomas Loughney, IV and his wife Lisa of Plano, Texas, Ryan Patrick Loughney and his wife Alicia of Pennsylvania, Shannon Marie Loughney and Lisa Kathleen Loughney of Springfield; his sister, Mary Ann Calloway and his niece, Katie Calloway of Charleston, S.C. and many friends.

A Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with Msgr. Thomas Reidy celebrant. A memorial visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street. Online condolences can be made at www.hhlohmeyer.com.
