Timothy Holthaus

On August 24, 2012, the world lost a lionhearted soul when Timothy Allen Holthaus passed away in his home in Springfield, Missouri.

Timothy was born in Farmington, Missouri on September 9, 1974. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Farmington Public Schools, Mineral Area College, and Southwest Missouri State University (now MSU).

Timothy had a fun loving, energetic, and always positive personality. He excelled in all sports, from golf, archery, and billiards to skateboarding, ping pong, hockey, bowling, and tennis. He also enjoyed shuffle board at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

His never-ending entrepreneurial spirit led him down many paths in his short life and he poured his heart into each adventure. He had the ability to make an entire room laugh. It wasn’t uncommon for people to ask his friends if he was “always like this”, or ask his wife “Are you always laughing at him?”

Timothy will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 14 years, Tracie Gieselman-Holthaus; his parents, Timothy Paul and Donna (Crabdree) Holthaus; sisters Kary Holthaus and Ashley Holthaus; mother and father-in-law, Mary Ellen and Dale Gieselman; numerous sisters and brothers-in law; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews; special family members; and more wonderful friends than one can imagine or try to list.

Timothy suffered in great pain over the past few years and his family and friends take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday August 29, 2012 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel 500 E. Walnut Street with Msgr. Thomas Reidy officiating. No visitation is planned.
