Thomas (Tom) Lee passed away peaceably in his home from cancer that he fought for over 6 months. He was surrounded by his wife, daughter, son and best friend when he moved on to next life Wednesday April 25, 2012.
Tom was born January 9, 1945 in Quincy, Massachusetts to Peter and Anne (McFarland) Lee.
Tom developed a love for the water and boats at a young age and entered the navy at the age of 17. Served 22 years in the navy, 6 of them under water (submarine service). He did several submarine tours in Vietnam. He moved to Springfield in 1976 with his first wife and kids. He spent nearly every weekend of his summers taking them camping and boating at Table Rock Lake. If he wasn’t on the water he was known to spend many hours with his tools fixing things that may or may not have been broken around the house.
Tom married Judy in 2007. What Tom valued most in life were his wife Judy and spending time with their kids and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Anne Lee and his first wife Margaret.
Tom is survived by his wife Judy; his daughter, Tina-Marie Gore and her husband Michael, his son, Thomas M. Lee, II and his wife Kelly Lee; his grandchildren, Jordan, Dyllin, Juston and Deanna Gore, Katherine (Kate) and Piper Lee; his step-children, Mitch, Marty and Michelle; five step-grandchildren Owen, Mason, Blaine, Mitch, Jr. and Ben and one step-great granddaughter Maleah; his brother Peter Lee and his sister, Anne-Marie Woodland.
