Thomas Vail Hall, 72 of Springfield MO went to his heavenly home on Angel's wings Sunday March 21, 2010 at Cox Medical Center South.
He overcame many hardships in his life, losing his parents at a young age. His Grandparents, whom he called Mom and Dad, raised and nurtured him.
Thomas was a lover of life. In spite of his illness, he was a very free spirited man and lived his life to the fullest. He helped the less fortunate and gave back to his community. Thomas was a devoted Christian and a member of Deliverance Temple Church for over 45 yrs. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Believe it or not, he loved to iron while watching his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals. Go Red Birds!!
Red, as many called him, was a Veteran of the United States Airforce. His last tour of duty was at Ramey Air Force Base Puerto Rico until being honorable discharged.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Thomas Henry Hall and Elvira Hatcher Hall.
Thomas is survived by his children, Reginald Hall and wife Annette of Radcliff KY, Ricky Hall of Seaside CA, Darryl O'Conner and wife Carolyn of Ozark MO, Terrence Page of Battlefield MO, Santrobria (Sandy) Page-Brown and husband Ricky of Springfield MO, Starr Page of Dallas TX, Chandler Hall-Page and wife Veronica of Springfield MO; as well as, a host of grand and great grandchildren residing in Alabama, California, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
Daddy will truly be missed but never forgotten. The family would like to give a special thank you to: Cox Medical Center, Oxford Health Care, the doctors, nurses, PCA's who were apart of his care through out the years. Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home INC. for the respect and dignity you gave to our beloved. City of Springfield Parks (Lake Springfield)- David Riggs and his staff for the beautiful location of the ceremony, Springfield Police Department, The Veterans Memorial Team and an honorable mention to all those still missing and unaccounted for. Last but not least to "ALL the BIG ones that got away!!!!!!
His spirit will be among all those in attendance and those who loved him dearly, reminding them to love life to the fullest. Even he would say: "Praise God, Bless Jesus"!!! Beloved father and friend, son of Thomas Henry Hall and Elvira Hatcher Hall, may you rest in peace.
A celebration party at Springfield Lake's boat dock will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday April 10, 2010.
