Theron Allen “Al” Watters, son of Theron “Warren” and Helen Theresa (Harker) Watters, was born August 21st, 1946, in Columbia, Missouri, and departed this life on October 16th, 2024, in Springfield at the age of 78.
Al served his country honorably in the United States Army from January 1966 to January 1969. He deployed twice to Vietnam. Al loved to line dance, and you could always find him cutting up a rug whenever possible. He worked at Hammons Field, helping keep the stadium clean and running smoothly, before he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Helen Watters, and one nephew, James.
Al is survived by his two sisters, Lynne Brown and her husband, Mark of Brighton, and T.J. Tanksley of Springfield; one brother, Steve Watters and his wife, Romona of Strafford; one niece; seven nephews and many friends.
Services for Al are currently pending.
