Theresa B. Burrows, 74, passed away in Springfield, Mo., on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006. She was born in Bloomsburg, Pa., on July 20, 1932, one of 11 children of Frank and Theresa (Dailey) Bachinger of Bloomsburg.
She was a 1950 graduate of Bloomsburg High School, where she participated in many activities. After graduation, she worked at First National Bank of Bloomsburg, at Bloomsburg Airport, and at Bloomsburg Hospital as a nurse's aide.
She married Robert L. Burrows in 1954 and over time the family grew to include five sons: Richard, Michael, Patrick, Timothy, and Joseph. The family moved from Bloomsburg to Columbus, Neb. in 1970 after Robert's retirement from the U.S. Coast Guard.
For many years, Theresa was an office manager for Columbus doctors Herbert Kueper and Ron Klutman. She also worked several years for Columbus doctor Marcia Goering, and was active in ARC while living in Columbus.
She was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Theresa Bachinger; by sisters, Claire Albertson, Christine Heiss, Rosemary Billington, Regina Bachinger, and Rita Murphy; by brothers, John (Jack) Bachinger and William Frances (Frank) Bachinger; and by her beloved son, Timothy, who passed away April 6, 1999.
She is survived by brothers, Tom (Marion) Bachinger of Springfield, Pa., and James Bachinger of Florida; by sister, Ruth (Stanley) Freeda of North Reddington Beach, Fla.; by her husband, Robert of Columbus, Neb.; by her sons, Richard (Debra) of Springfield, Mo., Michael of Centennial, Colo., Patrick of Dallas, Texas, and Joseph of Springfield, Mo.; by grandaughters, Amy (Josh) Unser of Springfield, Mo., Katie Burrows of Kirksville, Mo., Candace Burrows of Greenville, Texas; by grandsons, Aaron Burrows of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Scott Burrows of Springfield, Mo.; and by many nieces and nephews and dear friends across the country.
The family thanks Dr. Thomas Dahlberg and the staff at James River Care Center in Springfield, Mo., for the kind, compassionate care Theresa received during her stay. The family also thanks Richard Kirkey and Father Fergus Monaghan of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield, Mo., for their guidance during a difficult time.
