Thelma Lorene Stephenson Wright, 81, of Springfield, MO passed into the arms of her heavenly father October 6, 2013 in Indianapolis, IN.
Thelma was born in Springfield, MO November 23, 1931. She was the oldest of three children. Thelma retired from Lilly Tulip/Sweetheart where she pioneered as the first woman machinist. She was also a business owner in Springfield, MO, most recently of “Olde Towne Shoppe of Lights” on College Street. She, with husband Ralph, was a member of the Senior High School Class of “49ers”, where in recent years they spent many joyous times with friends. She was a member of the Brookline First Baptist Church.
Thelma was a woman of many talents and abilities. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts and lives of many.
She is survived by daughters Sue Shah and Lorraine Wright; granddaughter Alithea Anderson, her husband David and their children Nick and Isabella; grandson Sundesh Shah, his wife Sneha and their children Nealon and Mila; her brother Michael Stephenson; nephew Michael Pat, his wife Marla; nephew Kelly Stephenson; brother-in-law Gene Wright and his wife Wilma; and sister-in- law Barbara S. Campmier Wright.
She treasured the opportunity to stay in Indianapolis with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren for some time but longed to return to her true home in Springfield and her friends in the “49ers”.
She was preceded in death by parents Helen and Roy; her sister Laura; and the love of her life, husband Ralph.
Visitation will be in Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St. on Sunday, October 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be in Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home Monday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Plum Grove Cemetery near Humansville, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Plum Grove Cemetery, P.O. Box 297, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668, a family supported charity.
