Terry Lynn Stokes born March 26, 1964 left this world peacefully on May 21, 2012. Terry’s family and friends rallied by his side as be spent his last days and hours comforted by their presence.
Behind he left his wife, friend and soul-mate Janet Lee Stokes, three step daughters; Heather Jo, Sara Lee, and Holly Carol, his pride and joy, grand-daughter Malia Nichole, loving mother Rita Davis and little sister Trisha Davis her two children Cooper Lee Cummins and Ashley Davis her two children Zoie and Kaylee Cantrell and the many friends and relatives who love him including his best friend John Wayne Robertson. Preceded in death his step-father and man who raised him with his mother, Frank Davis.
As we all know Terry loved nature being outside hunting, fishing, sometimes just contemplating an issue or planning a new project like building something new or fixing things and making them better. That’s what he did; it just came natural to him. He was mechanically inclined and loved motorcycles from the inside out. Many will remember him when they hear the rumble of a Harley or many riding together in unity. Signs also bring Terry to mind; he made a career at Missouri Neon Sign/Vision Tech and will be missed by coworkers and customers.
Terry was a dynamic and strong man who did not put his troubles and pain out for others to endure. He was an outgoing person who also enjoyed having a private side and intimate relationships. He will be missed but not forgotten. His life will live on inside of each person who had the fortune of being a part of Terry’s life. Celebrate his life which was amazing!
A remembrance gathering and visitation for family and friends will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in Christ Church Unity, 2214 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO followed by services at 7:00 PM.
