Terry L. Pearman, 65, Springfield, became an angel in Heaven on Monday, April, 8, 2013, after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He was born in Lebanon, Missouri on October 14, 1947 to Dale and Dorothy Pearman. He fell in love with racing at a very young age and it was his passion. He raced for many years all over the Ozarks, worked on cars, and became an active member in the Ozarks Area Racers Association later in his life. Racing brought so much joy to Terry’s life and also introduced him to so many lifelong friends who he cherished. Terry made friends quickly and was always willing to help others out. He never met a stranger.
He met the love of his life Mary Gabriel at Bolivar Speedway and they were united in marriage on July 11, 1969. From this union they had two daughters and they were the light of Terry’s life. He was a devoted husband and father. He did whatever it took to take care of his girls and always put them before himself. He worked as a driver for Hiland Dairy for twenty years. In 2009 he became a Grandpa. He was absolutely crazy about his three grandchildren and they were equally crazy about their beloved “Poppy”.
Terry was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Gabriel) Pearman, his father Doss Dale Pearman, mother Dorothy (Kelley) Pearman, and brother Larry Dale Pearman.
He is survived by daughters, Shea Haselhorst and her husband Brent, and Kristen Pearman and her fiancé Tim Lawson; grandchildren, Timothy, Kaitlyn, and Madalyn; Sisters Brenda Jackson and her husband David, and Linda Stark. As well as a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends and family that were so dear to him.
The family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care and Hospice Compassus for their wonderful care.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday April 12, 2013 in St. Agnes Cathedral. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
