Steven Terry

Steven (Steve) Eugene Terry died Sunday morning November 28th 2010 at his home in Springfield, Missouri, after a long battle with cancer.

Steve was born on May 13, 1955 in Iowa City, Iowa to Wanda Anderson Terry and the late Fred Eugene Terry. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1958 where Steve received his education in the Dewey, Ochelata, Ramona, and Bartlesville public schools. He joined the Navy in 1972 and served for four years during the Vietnam war. After discharging from the Navy, Steve returned to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where he worked as a painting contractor with his dad. On July 1, 1977, he married Regina Inman and they made their home in Bartlesville until they moved to Springfield in 1984, where he continued his career as a painting contractor. Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved rock'n roll music, a good steak, and his family. He had a unique sense of humor, and his wife said he was still making her laugh even in his final days. He was the best painter around, and he was just alot of fun.

Steve is survived by his wife and best friend Regina and son Dylan of the home, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Melissa Terry, daughter and son-in-law Casey and Joel Dickens, mother-in-law Jean Inman, and grandchildren Payton, Taylor, Camron, Chloe, Booger, and Louie, all of Springfield. He is also survived by his mother Wanda Terry and his brother and sister-in-law David and Peggy Terry of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, sister and brother-in-law Trina and Kelly Pugh of Broken Arrow , Oklahoma, sister and brother-in-law Dori and Phil Chalifoux of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Fred Eugene Terry and a son Cole James Terry.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday December 3, 2010 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help pay for funeral expenses.

Steve lost his battle with cancer but the victory is now his through our Lord Jesus Christ, and although we will miss him we will honor his memory by trying to carry our own crosses with as much courage and faith as he did. He is now in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and forever in our hearts. Rock on Steve. We love you.
