PO1 Stephen Lewis Retired United States Navy, son of the late William F. Lewis and Elsie M. Stephens, born November 4, 1940, in St. Louis Missouri. As a young boy Stephen grew up in Richland, Missouri and joined the US Navy on April 15, 1959.
Stephen excelled in the Navy and earned several awards and commendations. Some which included National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (2), Vietnam Service Medal (6 stars), Good Conduct Medal (2), Combat Action Ribbon, Fire Fighter Asst. Dist. Devise, Letters of Commendation (2), Meritorious Unit Commendation. He obtained the rank of E6 before his retirement on October 1, 1989 after 30 years of service.
After retiring on January 25, 1989, Stephen was united in marriage Amalia Manzano (Amy) in Court house Pampanga Philippines.
Stephen was member of Simmons Baptist Church and also care taker of Youth Baptist Camp of Houston, Missouri 1994-1996.
And in his spare time Stephen enjoyed reading books and listening to music.
Stephen went home to be with the LORD January 30, 2014 6:20pm.
Stephen was sick since 1996 and he will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him.
Stephen leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Amy of the home, two sons Jezreel of Springfield, Missouri and Jericho of Waynesville, Missouri and a brother Kerry Lewis of Houston, Missouri and a sister Frances Lueck of Sunrise Beach, Missouri.
Military Honors to be held at later date at Missouri Veterans Cemetery- Ft. Leonard Wood. Military honors will be provided by United States Army of Ft. Leonard Wood.
