Stephen Merle Hinkle, 68, of Springfield, Mo passed away August 5, 2018.
He was born on March 25,1950 in Villisca, Iowa to Joe and Ruby Hinkle. He graduated from Nishna Valley High School in Emerson, Iowa in 1968 and was looking forward to his 50th reunion. He went on to Creston Community College and then worked for Highway Equipment.
In 1983 he moved to Springfield, MO where he remained to raise his daughters. He worked in truck sales at Bus Andrews, Springfield Freightliner and Trux. He was a member and past trustee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3934.
He is survived by his daughter, Kami Oster and her husband Bryon. His 2 grandson, whom he loved being a Papa to, Eli and Theo. His youngest daughter, Lyndi Hinkle. His sister, Donna Larson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His Neices and nephews; Kris, Joe, Russ, Michelle, Lisa, Tony, and Shari.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe; his mother, Ruby and his sister, Mary-jo.
While in his younger years he enjoyed golfing and shuffle board, he later grew a passion for gardening and fishing. In lieu of a memorial, we ask that you spend some time outdoors and think of good memories. Plant a flower in his name or go fishing.
