Stephen Ghys

Stephen J. Ghys, 35, Springfield MO, passed away Thursday July 29, 2021 in the home of his aunt.

He was born February 1, 1986 in Springfield, MO to Barbara and Bernard Ghys. Stephen attended school at Study Middle School and Central High School. Before becoming too ill to work he was in masonry work with a local company. Stephen enjoyed spending time with family and friends and always looked forward to holidays together. He loved children but never had any of his own. Stephen had a fondness for animals, especially his German Shepherds, Infamous and Zeus.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Ghys; grandfather, William Ghys; and uncles, Richard Prugger and Aaron Kerfoot.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Ghys; brother, Christopher Ghys; sisters, Catlin Ghys, Calli Ghys, and Candra Ghys; grandparents, John and Dorothy Prugger and grandmother, Eula Ghys. He will also be missed by a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial Services will be held at 6:00pm on Monday evening, August 9, 2021 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri.
