Sheila (Rhodelander) Ridenhour from Springfield MO, age 73, passed away January 7th. She was born March 29, 1939 in rural Dallas County
Missouri to Charly and Fannie Mae Rhodelander. Sheila attended Wendyville high school and then moved to Kansas City MO to pursue a career. She obtained a position with Hallmark Cards Inc. in 1960. Her passion and expertise were put to great use as a lead press operator at Hallmark’s KC manufacturing plant. Sheila believed in working hard, being loyal to your employer, and instilling quality in all you do. Her motto was to either Give it your best, or do nothing at all. Sheila retired from Hallmark with 34 years of outstanding service. Sheila's passion was lake life and spending time with her children, family and friends.
Sheila was preceeded in death by her parents: Charly and Fannie Mae Rhodelander; her daughter, Jeanne Kay Horton; two stepsons, Carl and Arthur Ridenhour; brothers Donald and Sanford Rhodelander and sisters, Sharon Enright, Pamalee Taylor and Charlene Cooley.
Sheila is survived by her husband Chester Ridenhour, daughters Linda Northern and husband Doug, Teanne Moore and husband Jim, her son, Ronnie (Rocky J) McConnell and his partner, Tony Fleith. She is also survived by three step-daughters, Sid (Cynthia), Karen and Stella, her sister, Freida Reed (husband Carl), her brother, Dewey Rhodelander (wife Florence) and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There will be two memorials held in Sheila's honor. The first will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel, 500 E. Walnut St. Springfield Missouri. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
There will also be a second memorial in Kansas City at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013 in Mount Moriah-Freeman funeral home, 10507 Holmes Road, KC MO. 64131. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
