Sheila Kay Montgomery-Burros was called to her heavenly home on January 23, 2016, where she was embraced by Jesus Christ her Lord and savior as well as her mother, Thelma Montgomery (Anderson), father, Dave Montgomery Sr., father-in-law, Grant Burros, brother, Dave Montgomery Jr., nephew, Brian Smith, and many other family and friends that have been awaiting her arrival.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Mark Burros, who has always been her best friend and the love of her life. A son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Tiffany Burros, a daughter and son-in-law, Meridith and Andrew Stapp. Four grandchildren, Zachary Burros, Tyler Burros, Matthew Stapp and Baylee Burros. Three sisters, Pam Montgomery-Fields, Paula Brake, Cindy Montgomery-Pinegar. One brother, Curtis Montgomery and her loving niece, Lisa Anderson, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Sheila was the glue that held the family together. Her bond with each of us was unique and treasured. She was nick-named the “news-caster” because she knew what was going on with each and every one of us, she was always just a phone call away.
Sheila enjoyed spending time with family, going to the lake for some good ole camping and fishing and often (always) out-fished her husband. She loved her sweet tea, her pool and her cabana boy, AKA Mark, who served her margaritas pool side. The most important role she held was that of being a homemaker, and she made that look easy. Not only did she make a loving home for her husband, kids and grandchildren, but all of her family and friends.
She also enjoyed her time working and volunteering at Weaver Elementary and Pipkin Middle School from 1982-1993. There is no telling how many children’s lives were touched by her loving and caring nature. Her passion for cleaning lead her to begin to clean for others for many years and during that time she made many new friends.
Her heavenly homecoming took a piece of each of our hearts. She will be missed and loved forever and always.
