Shawn William Fattig was born April 28, 1977 and left for his heavenly home on November 2, 2018.
Shawn was a 1996 Benton High School graduate. He was active in Special Olympics and won a lot of medals playing basketball, baseball, bowling, and track.
In 2001, Shawn moved to Springfield with his family. He participated in Miracle League baseball and bowling. He enjoyed socializing with friends during TEAM. Shawn attended Developmental Center of the Ozarks for 13 ½ years. He made many friends there. For the past three summers Shawn has attended Camp Barnabas. The staff there nick named him Billy Graham because Shawn would preach daily and would often lead his cabin in prayer and bible study.
Shawn lived in an Independent Supported Living home that he shared with Eric and DJ. They were more than just housemates they were brothers.
Shawn was met in heaven by his Grandpa Bill, Grandma Betty, Nannie, Grandpa Fattig, Grandma James and Grandpa James. He is not alone.
Shawn is survived by his mom Rae and his dad Kenny (Debbie), his sister and brother in law Rachel and Justin. His nieces and nephews Blaise, Khloe, Aubrey, and Sylas. His grandma Fattig, Grandpa Ted, “mother in law” Julie, and several of his “favorite” aunts, uncles, and cousins. Shawn also leaves behind a multitude of friends who were very important to him.
Rest in Peace Shawn William Fattig. Our forever child; we will always love and miss you.
