Sandra “Sandy” Kay (Dinwiddie) Butler was born on January 15, 1948 to Ancel Guy Dinwiddie and Leota “Louise” (Dudley) Dinwiddie in Niangua, Missouri and departed this life on August 19, 2024 at the age of 76.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Butler; her father, Ancel Dinwiddie; her mother, Louise Dinwiddie; one brother, Dennis Dinwiddie; one sister, Lanna Becraft; and one grandson, Kevin McCarty.

Sandy is survived by one daughter, Angela Martin of Springfield, Missouri; one son, William (Shelli) Bard; two stepsons, Wesley (Carmen) Butler and family, Matthew (Theresa) Butler and family; two grandsons, Derek (Brooke) McCarty of Georgia, James Mead of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, John (Leota) Dinwiddie of Richland, Missouri, and Larry Dinwiddie of Jefferson City, Missouri; one sister, Anita Dinwiddie of Marshfield, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Corbin, Emmett and Amelia McCarty of Georgia; her beloved dog, “Bella”; and a host of nieces, nephews, along with other family members, and friends.

Sandy enjoyed making cross stitch quilts, where she won several trophies for the quilts. She donated to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home. Sandy enjoyed going to shows in Branson, Missouri, going to the Senior Center where she made numerous friends and played cards and bingo throughout the day. She also enjoyed playing cards along with board games with her family and friends and was always learning new games to teach her family. Sandy was an avid collector of owls, crosses, jewelry and clothes. She enjoyed going to church and studying her Bible and she often volunteered at church and helped when needed as long as her health permitted her to do so. She enjoyed watching westerns, listening to Elvis Presley music and loved to cook big meals on the holidays. Sandy was an outdoor person and remained active until she physically no longer could. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, August 26, 2024 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road in Springfield, Missouri with Pastor Ron Robinson officiating.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri.
