Rose Marie Huggins, 99, passed away October 21, 2013 in James River Care Center.
She was born September 4, 1914 in Springfield, MO to W.H. and Rosa Hendrix Krischel.
She was united in marriage to Paul R. Huggins on December 28, 1934.
Rose Marie was a graduate of St. John’s School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for the Springfield Public School System, retiring in 1975 after twenty years of service.
She was a Eucharistic Minister at Lady of the Lake Church in Branson, MO and also was a leader in starting a church in Forsyth, MO.
She made lots of rosaries that were sent with missionary priests to distribute all over the world.
Rose Marie was also a member of Quilting Club and she made numerous quilts.
She was preceded in death by her immediate family which includes her parents, husband, brother, Ed Krischel, nephew, Jack Swift.
Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews including Rose Marie Fritz, Hartville, MO, Pat Garton, Angie Smith and Fr. Bruce Swift.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM Monday, October 28, 2013 in St. Agnes Cathedral, Springfield, MO one hour before the service.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Mike McDevitt and Fr. Bruce Swift officiating. Burial will follow at 12:00 PM in Springfield National Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tim Fritz, David Fritz, Robert Swift, Damien Scott, Angela Smith, and Nancy Skiles.
