Rosalyn Marie Homan (October 31, 1950 - June 8, 2009)

Rosalyn Homan, of Springfield, passed away Monday morning, June 8, 2009 in ManorCare.

Rosie was born October 31, 1950 in Fremont, Ohio to Mark and Joan (Hyland) Homan. She attended State School Number 1 through graduation in May 1971, and from then worked for many years at the Springfield Sheltered Workshop. Rosie was an avid participant in the Special Olympics Bowling program and bowled in the handicapped league for many years. Rosie loved life and knew no strangers, sharing her joy with a quick smile for whomever she met (and a hug whenever she could).

She is survived her brother, Fred Homan and his wife Trudie of Blue Springs, MO, her sister Geri Grooms of Springfield, and five nieces, Andrea Pemberton, New York City, NY, Kiersten Plute, Kansas City, MO, Alissa Matthews, Little Rock, AR, Serena Harris, Little Rock, AR, and Britany Gimlin of Oak Harbor, Washington, her great nieces and great nephews, Knox, Talaula & Tennessee Plute, and Daniel Gimlin; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 11, 2009 in the Chapel at St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Mike McDevitt celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street. Visitation will be from 6:00 � 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 10th with a rosary service starting at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
