Rosalia H. Pentecost (Rose)

Rosalia H. Pentecost (Rose), 91, Richmond, KY died at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, at home. She was born in Superior, WI on December 28, 1929, the daughter of Rene J. and Helen C. Stansky LaValley.

A native of Superior, WI, she graduated from East High School in Superior. Rose was united in marriage to Ralph G. Pentecost on December 29, 1956 in Albert Lea, Minnesota and they celebrated 35 years of marriage before his passing in 1992 in Springfield, MO. She has lived in Kentucky for the last 8 years with her daughter Sister Robbie Pentecost. She was an active volunteer in her church and her community throughout her life.

She is dearly missed by her family and friends. Surviving is her daughter, Sister Robbie Pentecost of Richmond, KY; three sons and their wives, Ken and Bev Pentecost, Lawrenceburg, KY, Dan and Belinda Pentecost, Marquette, MI, and Mike and Karen Pentecost, Shawnee, KS; one sister, Jane Bishop of San Luis Obispo, CA and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many dear friends. Two very dear friends, Barbara Sorey and Barbara Harvey are among those who touched her and held a very special place in her heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Ralph G. Pentecost, brothers, Alfred, Joe, Emanuel “Pete”, Joe, Lawrence, and Firmin LaValley; and sister, Ethel Dettlaff.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 am Saturday May 27, 2023 in St. Agnes Chapel 533 S. Jefferson Ave. Springfield, MO with Fr. Mike McDevitt celebrant. Burial of cremains will follow in Resurrection Cemetery under the care of Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
