Ronald Lorenzo Brown was born May 2, 1955 to Catherine Brown and George Hill, Jr., in St. Augustine, Florida. He spent his first years of life on Anastasia Island in Florida, after that he moved to New York then lived in New Jersey where he looked forward to spending time with his God-parents, Dr. Halsey and Ruth Carstens.
He graduated from Boyd Anderson High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with the class of 1973. Later attended Broward Community College and Florida Memorial College in Miami and Wichita Area Technical College in Kansas. He served for 5 years in the military from 1977 to 1982.
He started a music career with Jamaican Bands "Cry Out" in Texas and played in other USA small bands, in the mid-west, up to the present time.
He leaves to mourn his passing; a daughter, Avalina Brown and a fiancee Regina Cooke; a mom, Cathy Brown; aunts, Sadie, Mary, Mayzelle, Christeen and Linda; uncles, James and Frank Jeffry; cousins, nieces and nephews from Florida, Texas, Georgia, Maryland, Chicago and Washington State; Best friends and Energy in Motion Staff, Steve and Julie Murphy, Neva Chapa, Steven Mazza, Mike, Kathy, Emalie, Cookie, Fran Davidson, Frances Nichels, Ty and a host of relatives; and friends of the west central neighborhood of Springfield, Mo.
Things he cherished included, a good guitar, a library card, a Ford Econoline Van, and outdoor barbecue/ smoker grill, Czech beer, music and movies. Favorite scripture, The 23rd Psalm; church affiliation, The Riverside Inter-denominational Church in New York City.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am Monday November 29, 2010 with Rev. Fred Royer officiating in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street Springfield, Missouri.
