Roger Mark Aldridge of Rogersville, MO died suddenly and unexpectedly in his home on June 19, 2021 presumably due to complications resulting from a previously undiagnosed medical condition. He was 73.
Mark was born in 1947 in Springfield, MO to Betty Ellen (Markley) Aldridge and Howard Maurice Aldridge. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1965 and married Margaret Louise Grace in 1966. Mark and Margaret relocated briefly to Wichita, KS where Mark was employed with Boeing Air and in 1967 their daughter, Johnelle Louise, was born. Upon returning to Springfield, Mark joined his family’s business, Markley Hardware, where he continued his employment until he and Margaret eventually purchased the business and operated it until their retirement.
A devoted and much-loved husband, father and grandfather, Mark spent his final years caring tirelessly for his wife, Margaret, who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia. Those who knew Mark will most certainly remember him for his quick-wittedness and his ability to interject humor into almost every situation.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Maurice Aldridge and Betty Ellen (Markley) Aldridge, formerly of Springfield, MO. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Louise (Grace) Aldridge of Rogersville, MO; his daughter and son-in-law, Johnelle Louise (Aldridge) Ethridge and James Todd Ethridge of Rogersville, MO; grandchildren Haley Grace Ethridge, Emma Louise Ethridge, and James Tucker Ethridge, all of Rogersville, MO and Chloe Marie (Ethridge) Shepherd (and husband Ronald Bruce Shepherd II) of Fort Worth, TX. Also surviving, one sister Janis Kay (Aldridge) Deck (and husband Daniel), two nieces and several cousins.
The family has elected to commemorate Mark’s life and passing privately, thereby scheduling no formal services. Those wishing to honor Mark’s memory are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
