Robert White

Robert B. White, 84, Springfield, passed away Saturday January 15, 2011 in St. John's Hospital.

He was born January 17, 1926 in Springfield, Missouri to Charles and Phoebe (Wilhoit) White. Robert entered into the service in 1943 as a merchant marine. He later joined the Army and served as a military policeman for 18 months in Hawaii.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Norma Lee White; his parents; and his siblings, Ralph, John, Clara, and Louise.

He is survived by his daughter, Janet Pedersen, and her husband Rich; his grandchildren, Eric Hammack, Ruth Anne Thornton, Michael Patrick Pedersen, and Aaron James Pedersen; and his longtime friend and companion, Louise Adams.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday January 19, 2011 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with prayer services starting at 6:30 p.m.
