Bob Shank, age 84, Springfield, passed away on Monday December 7, 2015 in his home.
He was born August 9, 1931 in Springfield, MO to John C. and Eva L. Shank. He graduated Springfield Senior High. He married Margie M. Stenger on January 30, 1950 in Springfield. He was a 65 year member of Sheet Metal Local 36 in Missouri and 50 years a member of the Masonic Lodge. He served as a deacon for over 40 years at Broadway Baptist Church; his greatest joy of being a church member at Broadway and later his 15 years at Grant Avenue Baptist Church was working with children in Vacation Bible School and summer camp and helping provide school supplies for neighborhood children.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers Dick and Joe, and one great granddaughter Abigail.
He is survived by his wife Margie, his two sons John and Robert and wife Rhonda, three sisters-in-law Juanita Shank, Sue Shank and Clara Busby and her husband Bill., four grandchildren Joanna Macdonnell and husband Jeremy, Stephen Shank and wife Kara, Nathan Shank and wife Kari, Christine Ryan, and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday December 10 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E Walnut with Robert Shank and Stephen Shank officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. No visitation will be held.
