Robert Miller

Robert (Bob) Earl Miller was delivered into the hands of Jesus on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the age of 77. He was born July 7, 1937 in Springfield, MO, the son of Edward L. (Tom) Miller and Lottie Mabel Miller. He graduated from Senior High School in 1955, married his high school sweetheart Donna on September 21, 1956 and was an employee of City Utilities until he retired in 1997.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dorothy Butcher and Genevive Earnhardt. He is survived by his wife, Donna Sheppard Miller; a brother, Edward L. Miller; a son, Steve Miller and wife Taryn of Springfield, MO; and a daughter, Lisa Wallen and husband Bruce of Blue Springs, MO. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren; Matthew Miller and wife Desiré; Whitney Leonard and husband Dane; Brad Miller and wife Kelley; Nicholas Wallen and Josh Wallen as well as 7 adorable great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 3 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home from 2 – 4 p.m. The funeral will be held Monday, May 4 at 10 a.m. at Wesley Downtown Church (formerly St. Paul UMC) located at 413 E. Walnut St, Springfield, MO 65806. Burial will be in Brookline Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made in memory of Bob to Mighty Oakes Heart Foundation (mightyoakes.org). Bob was an organ donor; he lived his life to the fullest and used his death as an opportunity to help the lives of others.
