Robert Franzman

Robert Joel Franzman, 74, Springfield, MO went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Cox South Hospital. He was born October 22, 1937 in Minneapolis, MN to Michael and Dorothy Fink Franzman.

He was raised in a traditional Jewish home but he gave his heart to Jesus, his Messiah, in October 1964.

He loved the Lord and was a member of High Street Baptist Church for the past 27 years where he sang in the choir, in groups and sang solos. His good friend Earl Smith always called him the “sweet singer of Israel.”

Robert served in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Rajean Franzman in April 2010.

Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ann Franzman of the home, his daughter Dana Parsons, two sons; Cameron and Daren Franzman, his granddaughter/daughter Brea Franzman, a granddaughter Kady Capler and two grandsons; Joel and Ryan Parsons. Also surviving is his sister Faye Stillman and husband Ralph, a very close cousin-in-law, Jim Nelson and wife Mary, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

His father-in-law, LT Nelson was like a father to Bob. They are catching up today in Heaven. They are probably looking for a lead and a baritone to start a gospel quartet. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at High Street Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 with Pastor Eddie Lyons officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, Springfield, MO.

If desired, memorial donations may be made directly to High Street Companion Class fund for a new sound system so that others can “make a joyful noise unto the Lord”.
