Robert “Bob” Lee Eiken, 69, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away October 21, 2011.
Bob was born in Jefferson City, on May 1, 1942 to Cyril and Inez Eiken. He grew up in Springfield.
Survivors include 6 siblings: Don Eiken, Ruth Ann (Larry) Kellner, Dennis Eiken, Rosemary (Bill) Cologna, Butch (Leiann) Eiken, and Joyce Eiken (Bruce Adib-Yazdi); 4 children: Richard (Maria) Eiken, Joanne (Jim) Murphy, Janet (Chris) Choate, and Linda (Tim) Pendleton; and 7 grandchildren.
In June of this year Bob received his certificate for 29 years of sobriety. Over those 29 years he touched the lives of numerous people. He was a devoted Catholic at Holy Name Catholic Church, while attending Saturday services at the chapel in KU Hospital.
Visitation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 pm Monday Oct. 24, 2011 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Tuesday Oct. 25, 2011 in St. Joseph Catholic Church 1115 N. Campbell Ave. Springfield, Missouri. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. There will also be a visitation from 9:30 am until service time Tuesday in the church.
