On May 31, 2016, Robert Bell Dooley Sr. joined his parents Raleigh B. and Edna Gatson Dooley and siblings, Bueford, Orville, Kenneth and Louise.

Bob was born May 25, 1940 in Stoutsvile, MO and went to school in Monroe City, MO all the way through high school. At the age of 16 he went to work for Koss Construction during the summer and upon completion of school went to work for them full time where he was employed for thirty years.

At the age of 23 Bob joined the United States Army and was stationed in Korea before being deployed to Vietnam.

Upon returning to civilian life, he soon met his wife of over 48 years, Marilyn Prugger Cotter. They were married on October 22, 1967 in Springfield, MO. Together they raised sons, Robert Cotter (Mary Lou), Thomas Cotter (Joetta), Robert B Dooley Jr, and daughter Dimple K. Gray (Larry).

He also leaves seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His two sisters, Sylvia Davis, and Carol Wiggins (Fletcher), multiple nieces and nephews and a very dear friend, John Tettleton.

His body will be cremated and an internment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 7, 2016 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery by Springfield Lake with a memorial gathering immediately following under the direction of Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E Walnut St.

Instead of flowers, donations to St Joseph Academy at 515 W Scott Street, Springfield MO, 65802 would be appreciated. Bob had been employed at the academy prior to retirement as their maintenance custodian. Bob really enjoyed the kids at St Joe and he even took a class on fishing at the academy, which happened to be his main hobby.

Bob was dearly loved and his family will miss him greatly!

Bob's gone fishing.....
