Rick Farley age 67 passed away peacefully on Sunday March,5th 2023 in his home in Springfield, MO. He was born on May 13th, 1954 in Dayton, OH.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Bob and Phyllis Farley. He is survived by his children Eric Farley and Emily Hobbs, brother Tim and wife Karolyn, grandchildren Amelia and Elaina Hobbs, and Nieces Kera and Megan. The friends he leaves behind have been with him since he moved to the area in the early 1960’s.
Rick worked at Paul Mueller for 23 years as a welder. Rick enjoyed bowling at Sunshine Lanes for many years. He bowled a perfect game once and carried a 200 average so “not bad old man” as his son would say. He also enjoyed fishing with many friends and family. After retirement, he would frequent the casinos with his lifelong friends for a chance at the slot machines.
What he took a lot of pride in was being a Dad. His love for his children always shined the brightest. Coach Rick was one of his most proud accomplishments in being a father. As a baseball and basketball coach, Rick taught Eric, and many other kids, not only the fundamentals of the sport, but also good sportsmanship and the importance of having fun.
Rick was cherished by many and he will be missed immensely by those who love him. But those who love him the most know we will see him again. This is not goodbye, just see you later
