Richard Hutsell

Richard “Rick” E. Hutsell, 64, of Springfield passed away on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 in Sumter, South Carolina.

Rick was born the youngest of two children to Delbert and Crystal (Broan) Hutsell on October 6th, 1958 in Springfield, MO. He attended Kickapoo High School. He married his wife Johnalene Hutsell on June 28th, 2019 in Arkansas. Rick worked in the welding industry for 10 years before becoming a tool and dye maker with Tyler Pipe and Coupling, where he made a career of 24 years. Rick loved riding motorcycles, listening to live music, smoking meat, and the Kansas City Chiefs. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Hutsell and step-father, Richard Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Johnalene Hutsell; his mother, Crystal Smith; his children, Whitney Wilson (Jennifer Wilson) and Ashley Hagewood (Kyle Hagewood), and his grandchildren August, Olive, Weston, and Oscar; his sister Cindy Sparks (Rick Sparks); step brothers; step sisters; as well as nephews, great- nieces and nephews, cousins, and an aunt and uncle.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am Friday, August 4th, 2023 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3506 N. National Avenue in Springfield, Missouri with Pastor Darryl McDaniel officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut in Springfield, Missouri.
