Priscilla Carr

February 11, 1917 — September 25, 2011

Priscilla Carr

On Sunday, the twenty fifth day of September, 2011 the angels came to carry Priscilla from the arms of her husband to the loving care of her Heavenly Father in her Heavenly Home.

Priscilla was born February 11, 1917 in Escalon, California to Henry and Dollie (Bruffett) Seidner.

As a child she accepted Jesus as her Savior, and simultaneously with her father, was baptized in Angeles Temple in Los Angeles.

She graduated from high school in Carthage, Missouri.

On January 1, 1942 she married Owen C. Carr, and shortly thereafter they entered the ministry with the Assemblies of God. They pastored churches in Kansas, Texas, California, Illinois and Missouri. In pursuing their God-given ministry they traveled in all 50 states and several foreign countries in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

She found her greatest pleasure as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Very important to her these past five years was her role as the Pastor's wife at Grace Assembly of God here in Springfield. She was dearly loved by the congregation and affectionately called "The Queen."

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Ethel MacPherson and Grace Brown.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, son David and wife, Delores of Springfield, Missouri, her daughter Marilyn Deaton and husband David of Fort Myers, Florida. Grandchildren, Ryan Deaton and wife, Jennifer of Fort Myers, Florida, Nicole Kelley and husband, Roger of Port Charlotte, Florida, Lisa Bull and husband, John of Springfield, and David (Davy) Carr of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Great grandchildren Allyson, Caleb and Sarah Deaton, David, Cole and Melea Kelley, Garrett and Evan Bull, and Morgan Carr.

Other survivors are her brother, Henry Seidner and wife, Vivian of Elk City, Oklahoma and her beloved niece, Ruth Ferguson and husband, Robert of Sarasota, Florida.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 27 at Central Assembly of God, 1300 North Boonville Avenue in Springfield, with her Memorial Celebration immediately following. The family will conduct an interment the following day.

The family wishes to express sincere apprecitation to our family physician, Dr. Richard T. Honderick for his kind, capable and compassionate care during these difficult days. Also to Cathy Ward of HPC Hospice Care who professionally and tenderly walked with us these last miles through "the valley of the shadow of death."

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to something near and dear to Priscilla's heart: the Pastor and Mrs. Owen C. Carr Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Southern Missouri District of the Assemblies of God 528 West Battlefield Road, Springfield, MO 65807. These funds provide scholarships for the education and training of young men preparing for ministry.
